Audrey would later write:

Tragedy once again hit my family hard and changed everything forever. A parent’s most feared nightmare came to reality and still haunts my family to this day. I will never forget as I watched my children heading out to the Mall feeling happy waving and blowing kisses at me with big bright smiles on their faces. ‘I love you mom don’t worry, we’ll be back, see you.’ I always taught my children not [to] say ‘goodbye’ because they’re not crossing over. I stood outside when my Sweetie Pie Aielah ran to me gave me a big buffalo hug and a kiss. As she walked away she says ‘Good Bye,’ then reassures me. ‘Oops sorry mommy, I love you mommy, don’t worry’ as she blew me kisses again.
